CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

YOGA  Most of our classes are appropriate for men and women of all ages.  Sessions are energizing, relaxing and empowering on all levels.

HATHA 
YOGA  This class emphasizes precision, alignment and safety.  Classes are  meditative and relaxing, yet challenging, and include aspects of other classic yoga disciplines as well as concentration on developing core strength. For all levels.

FLOW YOGA classes develop strength, flexibility and concentration through precise inter-linking of yoga postures
. Meditation arises spontaneously from correct movement through a flowing series of postures.  Prior experience recommended.

NIA    A combination of carefully selected movements and concepts from Yoga, Tai Chi, Tae Kwon Do, Aikido, Jazz, Modern Dance and other movement forms.  This class offers total-body cardiovascular conditioning and cross-training for any sport or activity.  Because this class is offered in levels (all within the class format), Nia is also for people who are completely new to movement and exercise, or who may have become bored, injured or reached a skill plateau in their traditional exercise class.  Nia touches people emotionally.  It's dynamic -- it's fun -- it's effective!  It will change the way you exercise.

BELLY DANCE  Combines ancient culture and spirited dance into a fun-filled hour.  Upper body shimmies and undulations tone and develop the arms, upper back and chest.  Lower body movements tone and strengthen the abdominals, buttocks and legs -- a fantastic workout for body, mind and spirit.  Classes begin with a warm-up and stretch, followed by technique, drills and combinations, ending with a cool down and stretch.  Newcomers are welcome.  Bring a hip scarf and a veil (3 yard piece of fabric that flows).

CARDIO COMBO  Traditional low impact style aerobics class combining weights.  Taught by Bonnie, formerly of Creative Health & Fitness, Milford.
